After so many goodbyes New York City FC formalizes the first signing of the year. Indeed, the club today announced the signing of Mitja Ilenic. Ilenic is a Slovenian footballer who plays as a right-back.
The Slovenian right-back made 32 appearances in Slovenia's first division, the PrvaLiga, scoring three goals across all competitions with The Yellows. The 18-year-old has also made seven appearances for the youth national team. Ilenič became the second youngest player to represent the U21 Slovenian National Team at the age of 17 years two months and 27 days.
